Description:
A pineapple flavoured, leucine, isoleucine and valine-free powdered medical food for use in the dietary management of proven Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) in children over the age of one year -

For use in the dietary management of proven Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD) in children over the age of one year.

Suggested Intake:
The recommended dosage of Acerflex is dependent on the age, bodyweight and medical condition of the patient.

Preparation & Administration:
Acerflex is best served as a chilled drink with meals. Make a paste of the prescribed amount of powder with a small quantity of water. Gradually add sufficient water to yield the prescribed volume.
It is recommended that Acerflex be reconstituted at a 1 to 5 dilution (e.g. 100g Acerflex and 500ml of water) and advance to 1 to 4 dilution (e.g. 100g Acerflex and 400ml of water).
These dilutions are guidelines only. Acerflex may be given in a more concentrated form e.g. drink or paste; water or diluted drinks should be offered at the same time.

Must only be used under strict medical supervision. Not intended for use as the sole source of nutrition. Diet must be supplemented with natural protein and other nutrients in medically prescribed quantities to supply the leucine, isoleucine, valine and general nutritional requirements of the patient. Storage:
Store in a cool, dry place. Always replace container lid after use. Once opened, use within one month. Once reconstituted, the prepared feed should be stored in a refrigerator and must not be kept longer than 24 hours from the time of preparation. Stir or shake immediately before use.
