SAVOURY VARIATIONS
Why not try some of these delicious alternatives to the basic recipe ?
‘PKU MILK’ LOAF
Pour the contents of 1 x 200ml carton Loprofin PKU Drink or Low Protein Snopro into a measuring jug and make up to 310ml (11floz) with cold water, use in place of the cold water in the Basic Recipe.
NB: the Snopro will give a slightly richer flavoured loaf
MAYONNAISE BREAD
Add 2 x 15mlsp (2tbsp) mayonnaise *, in place of the oil.

OLIVE AND HERB BREAD
Add 50g (2oz) sliced black olives and 2 x 5mlsp (2tsp) dried mixed herbs, to the bread-pan, after the weighed mix.
SUN-DRIED TOMATO AND BASIL BREAD
Use 1 x 15mlsp (1tbsp) sun-dried tomato oil in place of the vegetable oil. Add 50g (2oz) drained and finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes, plus 2 x 15mlsp (2tbsp) chopped fresh basil to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
CAJUN SPICE BREAD
Add 2 x 5mlsp (2tsp) Cajun spice to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
Alternatively, why not try a spice blend of you own flavour preference ie: curry, Chinese 5 spice or other.
MUSTARD BREAD
Add 2 x 5mlsp (2tsp) English mustard powder to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
COURGETTE AND CHIVE BREAD
Add 100g (4oz) coarsely grated courgette and 7g ( ¼ oz) finely snipped chives to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
GARLIC BREAD
Use 15g ( ½ oz) melted butter, in place of the oil. Add 2 x 5mlsp (2tsp) garlic seasoning to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
SWEET VARIATIONS
APRICOT AND HONEY
Add 75g (3oz) ready to eat apricots, chopped and 1 x 15mlsp (1tbsp) set honey to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
SPICED FRUIT BREAD
Add 4 x 15mlsp (4tbsp) mincemeat* and 1 x 5mlsp (1tsp) mixed spice to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.

APPLE BREAD
Add 25g (1oz) dark soft brown sugar, 75g (3oz) coarsely grated baking apple and 1 x 2.5mlsp ( ½ tsp) ground nutmeg to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
CHUTNEY AND SULTANA BREAD
Add 3 x 15mlsp (3tbsp) fruit chutney (chop if necessary) and 3 x 15mlsp (3tbsp) sultanas to the bread-pan after the weighed mix.
