Dear friends,
I think the English is very important for my daughters. I´d like that they travel to United Kingdown to learn. But my first daughter is PKU and I am afraid of it.
Is possible to find a good school to learn English and to cook the diet in United Kingdown or in Ireland?
Thank you very much.

Hi Marien,

Are you thinking of moving to the UK or Ireland to live or will you just come for a short time? How old are your daughters?

I´m thinking only for learn in summer.
My daughters are six and three. It´s soon. But two are learning English with a English teacher at home.
I think that I can travel with them in their first years in UK or in Ireland.
English is very important to PKU, because all scientific research about PKU, all products, all information are written in English.
I love travel USA to buy phenylalanina test in real time, to talk with associations,…
I´m learning English too because all these reasons.

By the way, is very difficult to you to understand my text?

Hi Marien

I really admire your dedication to learning english for your daughters. I have no trouble understanding you at all. Your english is much better than my Spanish!! I’m going to ask my daughters dietitian if she knows of anything such as PKU friendly summer language schools.

I’ll let you know what I find out

Hi Marien,

I think there may be a number of schools around the UK (I am not sure about Ireland), the trick is to find the best one. I have a couple of friends who are in higher education and know about this. I have emailed them but there have not come back to me yet. I will come back to you as soon as I hear an answer.

Hi Marien,

Got in touch with my friend, she says the many language schools in the UK that are open to children over the summer holidays, they are not cheap however. She said you might find it difficult to get in at this late stage: might be best to plan for 2009. Here are some of the links:

http://www.vacstuds.com/
http://www.ces-schools.com/study/young.aspx
http://www.stclares.ac.uk/summer/index.php

Hopefully they wont take the links off, although they are competitors for SHS so they shouldn’t (please). Hopefully you will pick it up tonight and copy them just in case.

Anyway hope this helps, and good luck.
